Why "Walk the Red"
Walk the Red was initially a concept about the journey we are on towards eternity.
When our founder, Amy Shaw, spoke to her children about their father's terminal cancer, she explained that they had a holy privilege to walk Daddy down the red carpet to the door of eternity. The best way to help Daddy get ready to enter heaven joyfully was to assure him that they would be okay, freeing him to anticipate with joy what was coming.
This concept of the red carpet stuck!
As the concept grew, Walk the Red became more a way of living than just preparing for the final run into eternity. As Amy coached individuals and families their needs were not exclusively about terminal illness, but about any challenges.
Amy recognized that "walk the red" could also mean how Kingdom sons and daughters walk through the earth in their God given identity.
Just as important people in our culture walk on red carpets, we are of extreme value to God and we walk on "red carpets" through out life.
Furthermore, the very blood of Jesus was what made it all possible...this is the red of walk the red!
